Open-plan living areas create unity and maximise space within each Hartwood residence. Floor-to-ceiling windows are paired with sliding glass doors to invite natural light inside, while also seamlessly connecting residents to the outside world. “The design is clean and neat with lots of space for personal artwork and decorative object display, giving these homes a personal touch.” –Sarah Wardlaw, Cera Stribley Architecture Drawing inspiration from Kew’s leafy and green environment, Hartwood’s architecture reflects elements of nature. Cera Stribley Architects has seamlessly connected the interior to the exterior, with large expanses of glazing and materials that are used on the outside of the building carried through to the inside. Natural features like the tree canopies overhead, gravel paths underfoot, dappled lighting through the trees, subtle muted colours and soft curves from the riverbeds are all inspirations seen in Hartwood’s design. Each residence evokes a sense of individuality, with residents given the opportunity to select from two colour schemes. The design is clean and neat with lots of space for personal artwork and decorative object display, ensuring each home is bestowed a personal touch.
