The Merry Barn has a history of fostering community, including its vibrancy as a popular dance hall, and in more recent years, as a retreat for writers, artists, and other creatives. The stately 1897 barn was previously owned by steeplejacks, who invested in its longevity by placing the barn on a modern, poured concrete foundation, among other improvements.
