It is approximately 26 miles long, 3 miles  wide, with an average depth of 54 feet, and a shoreline measured at  300 miles in total, and is approximately 800 feet above sea level.  The Lake Keowee area is popular for fishing, waterskiing, swimming,  camping and picnicking. The lake has three types of bass--  largemouth, smallmouth and spotted-- as well as crappie, bluegill,  yellow perch, catfish, brown trout and rainbow trout. This parcel is  only one away from Lake Keowee. Lake Jocassee is a 7,500-acre, 300-foot deep reservoir in northwest  South Carolina. It was created in 1973 by the state in partnership with  Duke Power. The lake is known for the clean and cold Appalachian  mountain rivers that flow into it, keeping its waters cool and clear  year-round. The Jocassee Dam, which forms the lake, is 385 feet high  and 1,750 feet long. The lake is within Devils Fork State Park. The  Lake Jocassee area is popular for fishing, waterskiing, swimming,  camping, and picnicking. Lake Jocassee holds state records for five  species of fish, including three in the sunfish family. In 2001 a 5 lb 2.5  oz Redeye bass and a 9 lb. 7 oz Smallmouth bass were caught. An 8  lb. 2 oz Spotted bass was caught in 1996. The last two came from the  salmon family. A 17 lb. 9.5 oz Brown trout was caught in 1987 and an  11 lb. 5 oz Rainbow trout was caught in 1993. This parcel is only four  miles away from Lake Jocasee. MR.
