The French Place residence, originally a 1920s church in Hyde Park, was moved in 1940 and repurposed as a home.  The home was rebuilt from the ground up in 2010 with a contemporary design concept for entertaining and displaying an art collection.  The exterior two story building consists of a single angle metal roof with a blend of exterior materials including repurposed long leaf pine from the original church, smooth surface stucco and vertical metal siding, nested behind a large live oak tree. The downstairs contains the connected social spaces of living room, dining room and kitchen, as well as the guest bedroom with office nook and guest bathroom with luxury tub.  The spacious kitchen includes new Viking range and appliances, Bordeaux granite counter tops and custom cherrywood cabinets. Moving up the floating staircase of Ipe wood, steel and glass, the second floor landing is an open space media room with built in wall speakers and large format window.  This connects to both a second bedroom with walk in closet as well as the primary bedroom with a dedicated yoga/gym space, reach in closets, and private balcony.  The north upstairs corridor is a mindful use of space with double sink primary bathroom, two person walk in shower with glass tiles, and another bathroom for second bedroom. The backyard is xeriscape with granite gravel and Zosia artificial turf, and a Tigerwood fence serves as the perimeter.  The stone patio allows for an outdoor living space while the white Oaks and Cedar Elm create an abundant of shade.  There is also a concrete slab with dedicated 240V for a jacuzzi. For those that work from home or would like a dedicated detached office, there is a stand alone 200 sf building with AC/Heat with large windows.
