In 1910 a Bank was built on the corner of Main and Second Streets in Roy, Montana. When the Depression hit the Bank business didn't survive, but the building, and its original woodwork was preserved. Today the building that used to be a Bank has been repurposed, remodeled, and added on to, and now serves as a historic family home.    Visitors are greeted in the main entryway to the home with the original 1930's small square mosaic tile work, before continuing into the main entry with vaulted ceilings, also serving as the home's dining and entertaining area. Original hardwood floors, large windows, and the original oak bank teller counter have been preserved and are incorporated into the home's aesthetic. Behind the teller cages, with bars still intact, a kitchen has been added, with ample counter and cabinet space. The bank's original vault now houses a 3/4 bath, secured by the original bank vault door! A wood cookstove in this area provides heat for the home in addition to 2 other wood stoves and a propane furnace. Each have been strategically placed throughout the 1552 square foot, 3 bedroom, 2 bath home to provide heat using as little propane as possible, keeping the cost of heating the home reasonable throughout the cold Montana winters.    Bedrooms are accessed by 2 different stairways, the master bedroom and bath situated above the kitchen and the 2 additional bedrooms above the living area.
