There are large gravel beds in the river as well as deep pools.  There is no end to exploring and discovery to be had in the river bottom.  Access to Clifton, the nearest town, is just minutes.  Clifton is a vibrant artist community complete with a hospital, multiple restaurants, museum, grocery store(s), and shopping.  Many refer to Clifton as the top of the Texas Hill County and it is well known for its Norwegian history.  There are many landmarks to visit on any given day.  Access to the ranch is via gravel road.  The commute time from the DFW metro area is approximately 1.5 hours.  Its a short 40 minute drive into Waco.
