Information from the PDM: TITLE IV - Rural soil - CHAPTER I - General provisions - Article 32 Principles, identification and characterization 1 - Rural soil aims to protect and make use of natural, agricultural and forestry resources, and is intended for the development of productive activities, the conservation of ecosystems and natural values, in order to guarantee biodiversity and the biophysical integrity of the territory, in coherence with the regional plan and sectoral plans.2 - Rural land includes the categories representative of its aptitude and current use, and the use of resources must be made from a multifunctional perspective, by hosting activities that are complementary and compatible with agricultural, livestock and forestry activities, which allow for the diversification and social and economic dynamization of rural areas.3 - The occupation, use and transformation of rural land, including agricultural and forestry practices, must adopt environmentally sustainable processes and technologies with a view to safeguarding and restoring the ecological balance and existing natural and landscape values.4 - Urban development operations carried out on rural land are bound by the implementation and maintenance of independent and environmentally sustainable infrastructure systems, where there are no previously built public networks.Article 36 - Tourist developments Tourist resorts1 - Tourist resorts may be included in all categories of rural land, except for those exploiting geological resources which are in operation or which are likely to give rise to possible exploitation activities, as well as in the specific cases established by the plan and provided that they respect the following typologies:a) Rural tourism resorts, including rural hotels built from scratch or through the adaptation and rehabilitation of existing buildings;b) Residential tourism resorts;c) Camping and caravanning sites;d) Hotel establishments. 2 - The construction or extension of buildings, regardless of the situation referred to in the previous paragraph, must comply with the parameters relating to the maximum height of the faade, the number of floors and the utilization indices set out in Table I - Building Parameters in Rural Soil of article 53 of the Constitution. 3 - In tourist developments, the number of private parking spaces must comply with the following criteria:a) Hotel establishments and rural hotels - 1 space for every 4 accommodation units, or 1 space for every 3, in the case of tourism establishments with a category higher than 3 stars;b) Residential tourism and rural tourism developments - 1 space for every 4 accommodation units. Article 37 - Enterprises of public interest1 - Enterprises of public interest may be included in categories of rural land, provided that they are considered to be of relevant interest to the social, economic or cultural development of the municipality, and it is up to the Municipal Assembly to decide whether the enterprise has specific characteristics that justify its inclusion in a rural environment and fits in with the strategic objectives of the municipality and the Plan.2 - The construction or extension of buildings referred to in the previous paragraph must comply with the parameters relating to the maximum height of the faade, the number of floors and the utilization rates set out in Table I - Building Parameters in Ru
