The former parish of Taião is located on a mountain plateau, about 10 kilometers from the town of Valença, the county seat to which belongs. It extends for approximately 8.68 km2 of area, distributed by the places of: Felgueira, Mó, Virialho, Taião de Cima and Taião de Baixo.

Given its location, in Taião it is always sunny, as the inhabitants of this parish say, being a source of pride for these people. You can, therefore, visit the Relógio de Sol, in Taião de Cima, and another example, in Taião de Baixo.
