It also has a parking space.The Parish of Moscavide was relatively recent, having been created on March 23, 1928, through decree no. 15 222, by dismemberment of the parishes of Santa Maria dos Olivais (Lisbon) and Sacavm (Loures), becoming integrated into the municipality of Loures. [6]It then encompassed the sites of Encarnao, Marcos and Beirolas, surrounding the so-called Estrada de Moscavide (from which he took his name), which went towards Sacavm (curiously, however, the said road remained integrated in the parish of Olivais until today; the remaining part originated Avenida de Moscavide, which is today the busiest street in the locality).Later, on February 4, 1955[7], and for reasons not yet fully clarified (since the legal diploma is silent), resulting from the delimitation between the municipalities of Loures and Lisbon, the region of Beirolas, where an Army barracks was headquartered, moved to the space of the parish of Olivais, which gives the parish its strange geographical configuration in the eastern part[8]. In 1996, a bill authored by the Ps provided for the rectification of the municipal boundaries and the reintegration of Beirolas in Moscavide [9], but the initiative, after having been referred to the respective parliamentary committee for territorial administration, ended up lapsing with the end of the legislature, with no follow-up.The name Moscavide seems to derive from the Arabic maskabat, which means sowing , thus denoting the great antiquity of the site. Ancient allusions are known to the site of Busca-Vides, which may also have contributed to the formation of the modern toponym.Despite its small space, Moscavide grew a lot, making the parish one of the most densely populated in the municipality of Loures for a long time. This exaggerated population development is still remembered today in its coat of arms, through the honeycombs that recall the way the parish grew. At the same time, working-class life gave way to commerce and services, which are still a hallmark of the tertiarization of the urban space of Moscavidense.The village of the parish, Moscavide, was elevated to town on April 3, 1964, by decree no. 45, 637 (a decree that gave the same status to the village of Odivelas, then also located in the municipality of Loures). [10]Of the urban complex, the Church of Santo Antnio de Moscavide stands out, recently built and in modern lines (it was inaugurated in the mid-50s). Moscavide also includes in its territory the Seminary of Christ the King, belonging to the Patriarchate of Lisbon, some old farms (Alegria, Candeeiro, Cabeo), and old workers' villages.
