The house is organic and you can feel it on your skin'<br /><br />Located 14 kilometres from Beja, this property reminds us of the silence and the senses that this Alentejo provokes.<br />It is one of the best preserved areas of this province, covered in the characteristic cork oak and holm oak forests, gently undulating, sparsely populated, where on cloudless nights you can enjoy a view of the starry night that is hard to find in other parts of the country. <br /><br />The house was designed as if it were a work of art made by four hands. The project was drawn up by architect Bartolomeu Costa Cabral, known for his simultaneously modern and classical language and for the great attention he pays to the relationship between the building and the surrounding space and to living conditions: natural lighting, the relationship between materials, the intelligent functionality of the spaces and their articulation.<br /><br />With 9 hectares, the house on this magnificent estate has a privileged view of the vast area of cork oak and holm oak forests in Beja<br /><br />The estate includes a 7-bedroom villa divided into two distinct areas (living and studio), with independent entrances connected by a central courtyard and corridor.<br /><br />The living area, with an area of 240 sqm, includes a large living room with a fireplace, a spacious kitchen with a dining area and equipped with Smeg appliances, a guest bathroom, an outdoor terrace, a bedroom with a fireplace/stove, en suite bathroom, walk-in wardrobe and private terrace, a double bedroom and two single bedrooms served by a bathroom with a bath and shower tray.<br /><br />The atelier part, with an area of 265 sqm, includes three rooms, one with a fireplace, used as workspaces, and a large open space where a sculpture atelier currently operates.<br /><br />This property includes patios, terraces and a saltwater swimming pool lined with green slate.<br /><br />All the rooms have access to private patios, starting with the entrance, which is through a walled courtyard with two orange trees and a spout, where the water permanently flowing into a tank gives a feeling of freshness and relaxation.<br /><br />Bedrooms with access to private patios, while a large covered patio serves as an outdoor dining area and access to the pool, with stunning views.<br /><br />In this project of great sophisticated simplicity, the 'choice of rammed earth construction was evident due to the climatic aspects, the defence against the Alentejo heat, creating an environment with thermal inertia, and also because it is a traditional technique suitable for a single-storey building.
