Pessegueiro Island is not inhabited but has known origin of use since the times when the Carthaginians dominated the trade. Praia da Ilha de Pessegueiro is a 10-minute drive from the center of Porto Covo. It is a vast beach, guarded, with blue flag. It is one of the most popular beaches in this area, attracting tourists, water sports practitioners and sport fishermen.

Porto Covo has Praia Grande, one of the most sought after by locals and tourists. Located near the north exit of Porto Covo, at the foot of the garden. With good access, spacious and sheltered by the cliff, it is one of the busiest during the summer.
It also holds blue flag and is a much sought after by surfers.

Other beaches in the region include Espingardeiro Beach, Pequena Beach, Buizinhos Beach and Porto Covo Bay, which are smaller but also quite sui generis.
