Pinhal Novo is a Portuguese village that is the seat of the Parish of Pinhal Novo in the Municipality of Palmela, a parish with an area of 55.84 km²[1] and 26,989 inhabitants (2021 census),[2] thus having a population density of 483 .3 inhabitants/km².

The parish was created, within the scope of the administrative organization of the Portuguese State, on February 10, 1928, by decree nº 15.004, of, with places detached from the parish of Palmela. In turn, the village of Pinhal Novo was elevated to the category of town in 1988 by Law Nº45/88, of April 19, 1988.
