Located in one of the quietest areas of Faias, and set in a plot with 4,000 sqm of land, this house built in the 1950s keeps the original design of the building intact.

It was completely renovated between 1989 and 1991 and in 2012, and an effort was made to keep as many of the original materials as possible. For example, the interior doors, the original kitchen window, the flooring on the upper floor, some of the material from the roof structure, the well, the tank, the mangers, the bench at the entrance (the old porch)... All prevailed.

The plan shown in the photos is the original plan of a house from Nucho das Faias. Today, the interior of the rooms has been slightly altered, but the exterior has remained unchanged, with the exception of the addition of a window that serves the current kitchen.

As we enter the main building, we find the hall of about 6 sqm (former porch), with the original bench. Moving to the left, we enter a 17 sqm living room (former kitchen), which leads us to the first floor bedrooms and the bathroom, this one complete with shower (the old support and bucket used by the first settlers for showering have been kept in this room).
We return to the entrance hall and head to the former "covered" area, which has been divided into two rooms, the first being the current kitchen of the house, measuring 16 sqm, with wooden furniture and tiled walls. The second room, which could be used as a dining room, has access to the outside of the front of the house (east), as well as to the back yard (west), and is very bright due to the glazed structure used to close the original (larger) arch that can be seen on the main elevation. Also part of this room is the staircase leading to the upper floor (the former "hayloft"), where we find a hall and two bedrooms.
The next room (the former stable) was transformed into the main living room of the house. Here, the mangers have been kept, recalling their former usefulness. A stove was installed for heating and the ceiling was covered with pine wood.

The region of Pegões is located in the municipality of Montijo, district of Setúbal, in the metropolitan area of Lisbon, in Portugal.
It is located about 30 km from the Portuguese capital. 
It is characterized by a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. 
Being a rural area, it has a rich and diverse natural landscape, with gentle hills, pine forests, cork oaks and extensive agricultural fields, among which the vineyards stand out, which represent the main economic activity in the region. 

The production of wines of distinct quality and flavor put Pegões on the map of the Portuguese Wine Route, being one of the main wine regions in the country. 
Another growing economic activity in the Pegões region is floriculture, with the municipality of Montijo considered The flower capital of Portugal.
The region offers its inhabitants and visitors various outdoor activities, such as hiking, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding... As well as some water sports at the Pegões Dam.
For wine lovers, a visit to Adega Cooperativa de Pegões for a tasting is a must. There, you can also get to know a little about the history of the region, namely Colonato de Pegões.
Gastronomy, accompanied by wines from the region, can be enjoyed in the various existing restaurants.
A short drive away, we find the Arrábida Natural Park and some of the best Portuguese beaches, such as Praia da Comporta, Troia and Figueirinha. 

Living in this region is living in the countryside, with tranquility, with time. It's having quality of life!
