Part of the Bragana district, the municipality of Mogadouro borders Spain along the River Douro. The main rivers that cross the municipality are the River Douro to the south-east, the River Sabor to the west, the River Mas and the River Angueira to the north-east. The Douro International Natural Park is located in the municipality of Mogadouro. Situated in the heart of the Mirands Plateau, Mogadouro currently enjoys a good road network.
