 The Schist Villages Network is made up of 27 villages spread across the interior of Portugal's Centre Region, 5 of which are located in the municipality of Lousã. These small centres bring together the regional tourist potential reflected in the architecture, gastronomy and traditions.

For those who enjoy walking, there are more than 600 kilometres of duly approved pedestrian routes. Mountain biking enthusiasts will be surprised by the range of trails with various levels of difficulty anchored in the Mountain Biking Centres;

Senhora da Piedade/"Burgo" river beach, which seduces those who arrive after taking the two-kilometre winding road through the mountains. As well as being a centre for pilgrimages to the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Piedade and the Ermidas, the whole "Burgo" - and especially the schist-built Arouce castle - guides visitors through the history of the municipality. Below the castle, the river beach makes excellent use of the waters of the Ribeira de São João for bathing.

It has the "Blue Flag" award developed by the European Blue Flag Association (ABAE) with the technical support of the Portuguese Environment Agency.

The Trevim Swing, built by the Isto é Lousã project, is located at Alto de Trevim, the highest point in the Serra da Lousã. At an altitude of 1,200 metres, the giant wooden swing is the ideal place to take original photos for Instagram.
