An unequivocal sign that we are arriving is the sudden appearance of three large, blackened chimneys already deactivated, an electricity-producing unit alongside three others whose brightness denotes its recent construction. This industrial scenario contrasts, with the green of the fields and forests that is imposed in almost all the space only pintalgado here and there, in the small valleys and slopes, by single-family dwellings surrounded by small gardens or some fields. Medas encompasses the places of Broalhos, Canas, Oaks, Castle, Stowed, Fisga, Formiga, Church, Pombal, Presinho, Souto and Vila Cova, with a total population of two thousand three hundred and forty-seven inhabitants.
