Land with historical monument of archaeological interest to be rehabilitated in Quinta do Lrio, Alhadas, Figueira da FozThe vast plot of approximately 37, 555 m2 includes the old manor house with a private chapel, the Capela de So Brs.A small excerpt about the history of the monument and the Legend of So Brs attached to this place: Brenha has had a charter since 1282 and was annexed to the parish and parish of Quiaios, from which it was emancipated in 1934. The detachment of the parish of Quiaios was requested and it became an autonomous parish, with a curacy, which had residence on the site. There is a legend in this parish: the Legend of So Brs, who was a charismatic Saint of the land, or from a nearby place, Lrio (who also received a charter, at the same time as Brenha).Quinta do Lrio had a manor house, of which the ruins still exist, with a private chapel - the Capela de S. Brs. Due to the dilapidated conditions of the chapel, the priest decided to transfer the image of S. Brs from Capela do Lrio to the parish church of Brenha. They brought the image from there with all humility and veneration. But, the following Sunday, when they went to say mass, the image of Saint Blaise had disappeared. After looking for her, they went to find her in the Lily Chapel. No one knew why this happened. This happened for 3 consecutive Sundays. It seems that S. Brs did not want to leave his chapel, and so it was decided forever, that his image, a very valuable image dating back to the 17th century, would not be removed from the altar of this church, where it could continue to be venerated by all believers. The most important places are Cabanas, Arazede and Lrio; there is also Vale de Jorge, which is on the road to Serra da Boa Viagem. - excerpt taken from
