The use of traditional techniques and exact replicas of pre-existing materials was one of the fundamental concerns of this rehabilitation. The original design was thus maintained through the preservation of many of the existing materials and the replication of period materials in the reconstructed areas. Materials and techniques traditionally used in the Alentejo, such as marble, clay tiles and smoothed cement floors, are one of the distinctive marks of this project. The property consists of 2 independent buildings, interconnected by an Alentejo patio, with a sublime swimming pool. The main house has 3 suites: on the entrance floor there is a large living room with the concept of an American kitchen and a large fireplace, a suite and a secondary room that can be used without another bedroom, a library, a tv/cinema room, in short, whatever else makes sense to its owners. On the 1st floor there are 2 more large suites and a terrace with a dazzling view of the Alentejo plain. In the second house, also with 2 floors, there are 2 suites and a living room, which can have several uses, one of them being to make a living room with an American kitchen, if you want to effectively create a space totally independent of the main house. A cistern with abundant water that feeds the pool and the existence of a cellar in the patio with rich old amphorae, in which you can produce your own amphora wine, or simply keep them for decorative purposes, are other elements of interest of this villa. It remains to be said that the rehabilitation of this house, with unique characteristics, had as a priority concern of its owners to preserve the original personality of it and the place where it is located, while allowing, through the materials and equipment used, to guarantee the levels of comfort and convenience that are required today, such as the pre-installation of air conditioning and double-glazed and thermal-cut windows.
