This convent was built by Lourenço Pires de Távora in 1558.<br /><br />The Costa da Caparica (or Costa de Caparica, as it is sometimes called, although, after much debate, it has been officially decided that it is even Costa da Caparica) is an uninterrupted sand of about fifteen kilometers long. It is only half of a coast thirty kilometers south of Lisbon, which also includes Praia do Meco and other beaches of Sesimbra.
