This convent was built by Lourenço Pires de Távora in 1558. The chapel and the building of the Capuchin Convent, in Caparica.<br /><br />Protected Landscape of the Fossil Cliff of Costa de Caparica<br />The Protected Landscape of the Fossil Cliff of Costa de Caparica is a protected area created in 1984 through Decree-Law 168/84 of 22 May, following the establishment of the Botanical Reserve of the National Forest of the Fears in 1971. It covers a total area of 1570 hectares along the west coast cliff of the Setúbal Peninsula, extending through the municipality of Almada and Sesimbra, in the coastal strip between Costa de Caparica (to the North) and the Albufeira Lagoon (to the South), passing through the Capuchos and Fonte da Telha, having more recently been the subject of a planning plan by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers no. 178/2008,<br />Costa da Caparica[1] is a Portuguese city in the municipality of Almada, seat of the homonymous parish with 10.18 km² of area and 13,968 inhabitants (2021 census)[2]. The population density is 1,372.1 inhabitants per km².<br /><br />The parish was created by Decree-Law No. 37,301, of 12/12/1949, with places in the parish of Trafaria.<br /><br />The village of Costa da Caparica was elevated to city status on December 9, 2004.<br /><br />It was the only parish in the municipality of Almada that did not undergo any change during the national administrative reorganization of the parishes that took place in 2013. <br />Energy Rating: E <br />#ref:7999
