After an extensive search, in 1998 this private sheltered hilltop at the far reach of the lane was purchased by the Needhams. Blown away by the panoramics vantaged from its hilltop and the densely wooded backdrop that wrapped behind it, the land exchanged hands. Two years later after numerous conversations and detailed consultations with renowned architect Brent Marvin, the dream came alive. The hilltop haven was born and the Needhams have lived, loved and cherished their time here ever since. 

Over the years they have shared it with others running a homestay for visitors that frequent this popular area. When asked what they have enjoyed the most. It was not just the vastness of the views, but the sheer privacy of it all, the calm, shelter from prevailing winds and the marvelous birdlife that reside and draw chorus in the many acres of woodland behind that form nearly half of the entire property. 

Anchored on the ridge, the home commands presence with sea views from almost every room. The sheer design embraces its pristine surroundings. Decks flow, unfolding spaces to stop, pause and peruse the view, the velvet hilltop lawn ready for garden party celebrations. The rolling meadow out front for horses, framed by the magnificent sight of the majestic Whangarei Heads, the overwhelming feeling of relaxation comes naturally here. It's a symphony of calm.
