Wairere is currently being afforested exclusively in Radiata pine under the supervision of professional forest managers, Forest360. Previously used for cattle grazing, the property lends itself to production forestry due to its favourable contour, fertile soil types, direct access to public arterial roads, and proximity to commercial quarries, wood processors, and Northport.

Selected for its production forestry attributes, including favourable Land Use Capability class, soil profiles, and easy to moderate contours, Wairere Afforestation enjoys proximity to public arterial roads, wood processors, export ports.
