Mum said I could tell you about our home. Our tiny town Ngahere is on the way to Greymouth from Reefton, down the road from Nelson Creek swimming hole, across the valley from Blackball school and we have the popular car repair shop, Ngahere Garage and the Ngahere Sawmill where everyone goes to get building supplies. We have fishing, hunting, and butterfly catching nearby, the school bus stops to take us to school, some of us live 'on farm', we are 'the outdoorsy type', you know with gumboots, horses and motorbikes. We raise animals and grow our own vegetables. We do get a little frosty in the valley in the winter though a good Pioneer fireplace keeps us warm! My house is quiet, and it is safe to play in the yard because we have fences and gates. The hut is sheltered by the hills and trees from both sides and sitting up high from the road, it's beautiful up here. My cat loves it, sunbathing on the balcony, my dog loves it, anywhere I go she goes, and I love it, my playground with my slide and swing set. Our place has heaps of parking spaces. My family bring their camper when they come to stay, and we put up tents in the school holidays too. We've got a bike shed next to the lockable workshop, which is next to the woodshed, next to the greenhouse. You should tell your Mum and Dad it's time to move to the Hut in the hills so you can have a playground too! We are moving so I want to show you what's so great about this place. Come and see it! Come on, let's go outside and play.
