River Rock Forest is strategically positioned along Maraenui Road in the Nuhaka region, Northern Hawkes Bay. 

Encompassing a title area of just under 523 hectares, with the productive area spanning approximately 433 hectares, situated on mainly easy to moderate terrain.

Nestled in a proven growing region with over 2,100 sunshine hours annually and a healthy rainfall, River Rock provides exceptional growth conditions.

The entire tree crop comprises of Pinus radiata, featuring first rotation age classes from 1995 up to 2018, a small planting in 1981, then second rotation plantings of 2019 and 2020. There is currently harvesting underway over the existing forest right with approximately 25 ha set to be replanted and subsequently handed back to the landowner.

Registered in the ETS, the carbon accounting area covers 352.8 hectares of the forest, with an impressive 44,902 carbon credits currently in the holding account. River Rock ensures excellent access throughout the forest, thanks to its well-established and high standard of roading infrastructure.

The forest is in a unique central location, at just over 50 kilometers from the Gisborne Port, the Kiwi Lumber Sawmill in Gisborne and Wairoa’s East Coast Lumber Sawmill.

River Rock is available for sale through a two-stage tender process, with the first stage closing on 22nd February 2024 and the final stage on Thursday, 28th March at 2pm.

Offering diverse opportunities for carbon, timber, or a combination of both, River Rock is a not-to-be-missed prospect.
