It is the largest and highest volcanic island in the world, which is located in a freshwater lake. Located at the base of the now extinct Maderas volcano, this 5.79 Manzana eco-lodge is surrounded by a beautiful dry tropical forest that is home to hundreds of different species of plants and animals.The property's four solar-powered eco-bungalows are designed to give lots of space to relax and unwind from modern life. Yet close enough to various activities and restaurants on the island. Each bungalow is equipped with hot water, fans, a private bathroom, purified water, a private porch, and a garden area, plus incredible views of the Concepcin Volcanoand Lake Nicaragua. The farm also has over 15 ancient pre-Colombian petroglyphs on the land, which contribute to the calm, sacred energy of the space. The early Indians considered the island of Ometepe as their promised land. The Maderas was the sacred place of the sun, while the Concepcion was the brother of the moon.Outside the property, there are many restaurants to choose from, located within the municipality known as Santa Cruz. Just a 10-minute walk from Santa Cruz beach, the best beach on the island and 20 minutes by bike from Ojo de Agua.Ometepe Island is accessible by taking a ferry (boat) that takes 30 minutes from the port to the island.
