Ref: NEX-221902 The small house of courts, The house is located on Nezahualcóyotl Street, in the neighborhood of pre-Hispanic times was the "Tecpan", a privileged place where the houses of the cacique and the main lords of Cuauhnáhuac were. This property is also located next to the cathedral of Morelos, which on December 14, 1994 was declared a "World Heritage Site" by Unesco on the Route of the Convents. Due to this location, this house enjoys the benefits of one of the most important colonial places in Mexico. Where this is found were once the stables of the Franciscan friars of the convent, who arrived in Cuernavaca in 1525 inhabiting these places, choosing four hills that they had to embank, until they finished the construction of the cathedral on January 2, 1529. Thus, Casa Chica de Cortés was part of the mysterious cloistered convent of nuns, it is one of the houses that were built for the daughters of well-to-do relatives, so that they could live in their enclosure with the comforts of their status, these novices entered after an onerous payment, and those who did not have resources, served the former. These houses were built with adobe, together with each other, as can be seen to this day on Nezahualcóyotl Street, and some without foundations settled in the hard tepetate, however, at that time their fronts and entrances were inside the convent that had only one access on the south side. This cloistered convent, which included this house, was like a closed village with alleys and squares, fountains and oratories, library, orchard and farm on what is now Galeana Street. The convent also had communal services such as bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, laundry itself functioned between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries. Originally this sixteenth-century house has been renovated and restored, preserving its thick adobe walls 5 meters high, rooms and corridors with columns that make it very cool, the same for its lush garden with bougainvillea that covers the high walls, located in the oldest neighborhood of the city, this house has, in addition, an impressive view of the bell tower and the Palace of Cortes from its terraces and balconies.
