With the creation of the Free and Sovereign State of Mexico in 1824, de facto Tenango del Valle was one of the first municipalities. On February 4, 1847, it was given the status of Villa. In 1861, the surname Arista was added to the header, in homage to Mariano Arista, president of Mexico from 1851 to 1853. For the services provided to the independence cause, the Local Congress decreed the adjective Heroic to the Villa de Tenango de Arista on October 19, 1868. At the end of the century the railroad arrived and with the train also the telegraph. The population growth throughout the 20th century imposed physiognomic change on the quiet Heroic Villa of Tenango de Arista. Schools were built, more houses were built on the edge of the town, the industry had an industrial park, communication routes were improved: the train disappeared when the highway to Ixtapan de la Sal was built. During the Mexican Revolution, most of the population from Tenango del Valle joined the Zapatistas in 1912 to fight for their lands. In 1994 it was elevated to the category of City.Excellent land in Tenango del Valle, State of Mexico.Surface: 13, 146 m2Uses: Rural, Agricultural, Medium non-polluting industry.Located on main roads: Carretera Federal Toluca-Tenango de Arista and Av.
