It has an area of 1, 011.06 km. It limits to the north with the municipality of Acaponeta, to the northwest with the state of Sinaloa, to the south with Rosa morada and to the southwest with Santiago Ixcuintla.The hottest months of the year are May, June, July and August in which the daily temperature reaches 33 degrees Celsius. The coolest months of the year are December, January and February, the minimum temperatures hardly drop below 13 degrees Celsius. Most of the year the weather is warm and the rainy season lasts 9 months, beginning in May. The average temperature of the water during the year ranges between 23 and 30 degrees Celsius and the wind comes from the 4 cardinal points, but more frequently it comes from the west.The main products produced in the field are: Mango, Tobacco, Beans, Sorghum, Corn, Rice and Sugar Cane.
