Location: Lido di Venezia, Lido<br />The Lido of Venice is the favourite seaside resort for both Venetians and tourists from Italy and all over the world, appreciated for its crystal-clear waters and beautiful beaches. The liberty style still characterises the entire island, accompanied by the 'belle epoque' atmosphere that reaches its peak at the end of summer thanks to the famous Film Festival. The Lido can be easily reached in a few minutes by various public water transport lines and the entire island can be travelled by car, which can be transported thanks to the public ferry-boat service connected to the mainland.<br />The property is located in a strategic position, very close to shops and services (bus stop, vaporetti and ferry boats, supermarkets, restaurants, etc.) but quiet and convenient to the beaches, both those equipped with the characteristic huts and the free ones, including San Nicolò, known for its natural oasis and the pleasant walk along the dike to the lighthouse.<br /><br />Sometimes a house can open a bridge to cross epochs, and Villa Mattutina, letting us pass through its iron portal, seems to transport us to the belle époque!<br />The Lido lands have indeed been a lively setting for avant-garde architectural experimentation, and this villa is one of the most harmonious examples of eclecticism, interpreted in a neo-Renaissance key by architect Giovanni Sardi, who also designed the famous Hotel Excelsior.<br />Walking along the garden path, the entrance door and large windows give the idea of a portico, marked by a linear style up to the large veranda. On the ground floor, the entrance leads into the dining room: at the back is a large fireplace, and a bookcase separates it from the rest of the living room. The room communicates with the veranda. The kitchen and other functional spaces, such as the services, are located on the floor, and are also conveniently connected to the garden.<br />On the upper floor are the three bedrooms: the master boasts a beautiful corner balcony overlooking the garden. The villa includes a second independent flat with a magnificent altana. Passing through the living room, the kitchen, two other rooms served by a large bathroom and the attic, we climb the stairs to appreciate it for ourselves.
