 Farm with characteristic stone building with large land located on a panoramic hill about one km from Serrazzano in the municipality of Pomarance. This is an important castle located in the borax area of Valdicecina. The castle has been known since the tenth century, it was located on the border between the Cecina and Cornia valleys, its dimensions were not very large, certainly smaller than those of the modern town, even if there are few remains of medieval structures that have survived. In the hamlet there are all the essential services such as supermarkets, banks and post offices. This area is famous and particularly fascinating for the activities of exploitation of the geothermal resource, a renewable energy source with low environmental impact, which satisfies a quarter of the needs energy of the Tuscany region. The show is very impressive: white columns of steam emanate from cracks in the ground, from the disused shower heads and from the towers of geothermal power plants. Given this energy use, the territory has not undergone strong contamination from traditional gas-powered plants and diesel.
