Palaia had its own period of prosperity from which was built the Pieve Di San Martino XIII century (1279, church of Sant'Andrea of 1200. Nearby we find the village of Montefoscoli, where the museum of peasant civilization is located, and the Temple of Minerva Medica, known as a place of esotericism.
The medieval character of Palaia is revealed between its fortress, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view and the village that still retains a stretch of wall count with Ghibelline battlements.
In addition to cultural and artistic sites, the hilly surroundings lend themselves to itineraries on foot, by bike and even on horseback thanks to a network of nature trails marked with ring routes, which cross unknown villages of ancient origin such as Gervasio, Alica and Colleoli.
