On the Pisan Hills had properties some exponents of the rich Tuscan bourgeoisie: for example, this historic villa at the top of an avenue of cypresses was built in the second half of the '700 by the Livorno family of Silvestri. In 1806 the villa underwent some alterations by the Castelli family. The villa has a quadrangular plan with two appendages on the sides of the façade that give it a T-shape. The main façade that appears to us in all its grandeur at the end of the avenue of cypresses, develops on two levels plus the attic and highlights the access marked by a 'newsstand in pietra serena. The five openings of the ground floor are also repeated on the upper level while on the last level the windows return to have only the stone frames but are low height. In the central area of the roof, stands a belvedere tower with arched openings from which on clear days you can enjoy a panorama that ranges from the Pisan Hills to Livorno with the port with the famous Tower. The Grandeur The main façade of the villa is transformed into grandeur as soon as we reach the interior where the theme of the central hall that gives access to the side rooms is repeated both on the ground floor and on the first floor: in particular the living room on the ground floor with wooden floor leads into four frescoed side rooms, or dining room and dining room near the living room with the stairwell well accessible. The rooms connected with the living room they are also the private chapel in perfect condition, the typical large kitchen and pantry, some closets and two comfortable bathrooms. But the greatest emotion we feel when we reach the first floor just overlooking the central hall which, also covered with a mirror vault, leaves us literally speechless: it presents a double volume decorated in most of the available surface with a cycle of works dedicated to ancient deeds by the master Luigi Ademollo, very active in Tuscany where he frescoed palaces, villas and churches. The brightness of the first floor is extraordinary at every hour and in any season, thanks to the large terrace of the main façade that is it opens towards the driveway and the large terraces facing north and south, all near double rooms used as a study and double bedroom, with the availability of three bathrooms, the most important of which is available exclusively to the master bedroom. On the second floor the available surface has been interpreted as a sleeping area, with a total of 5 between rooms and double rooms all equipped with exclusive bathroom. At the top of a park that occupies a good part of the hill of 1 ha, the house offers 560 square meters with an average height of 4.60 meters on the ground floor, 440 square meters with average height 4.00 mt on the first floor (with the culmination of the vault crap located at 6.90 meters), 320 square meters with an average height of 3.00 meters on the second floor while the 440 square meters of the attic on the third floor and the 40 square meters of the altana overview are only viable. The villa has been carefully restored on the occasion of the purchase by the current owners who have preserved all the extraordinary artistic qualities that led Aristide Castelli to elect it as the favorite among the many residences available to him.
