Here we enter history. The New Castle of Incisa is a historic building that draws its origins from a medieval castle, built just before the year 1000, located in the center of an ancient village, on top of a hill overlooking the valley, a few kilometers from Nizza Monferrato. The Castle, witness to many vicissitudes and various conquests that took place in this part of Monferrato, subject to various destructions and reconstructions, has accompanied for centuries the history of the Marquises of Incisa, a very powerful family between the twelfth and fourteenth centuries, a period in which they were significant actors in the power disputes between the various dominant lordships of that era, such as the Monferrato, the Savoy and the Visconti. The Castle, as it appears today, is a neo-Gothic building, largely rebuilt at the beginning of the 20th century, but in which there are still previous architectural testimonies and, in particular, traces of the tower of the ancient medieval castle, still present and visible on the top of the hill included in the park of the property. The New Castle of Incisa develops around a courtyard, enclosed on three sides by residential buildings and on one side by an imposing wall that supports the upper part of the hill, in which the property park extends. The building is elevated to two floors above ground connected by two internal staircases and a large cellar. It is presented on each floor with an order of rooms in sequence. The rooms, 26 in all, have valuable vaulted ceilings, or coffered or frescoed. The floors are almost all original, mostly in cement tiles with various motifs. The structures and the roof are in good condition. Clearly, interventions on the systems are necessary, to be updated and sized according to the intended use that is to be given to the property. On one of the two short sides stands a crenellated tower, from the top of which you can enjoy a breathtaking view. The land, which extends for about 3 hectares on the edge of the village, was once cultivated with vineyards, which in past centuries has represented and still represents an excellence of the territory. We consider this property a unique opportunity to invest in a monument representative of the history of this area, which is experiencing a moment of growing interest thanks to its inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
