Lorenzo, at the time not yet a cathedral.In the thirteenth century, the Embriaci and Fieschi families had houses and properties here. In the late Middle Ages it was still inhabited by relatively well-off classes, then, starting from the fifteenth century, emigration from the countryside was concentrated in this part of the city where the building density had progressively thickened, with a consequent increase in the working classes.The route of Via Ravecca divides this popular urban fabric into various sub-zones, with buildings that often date back to the late Middle Ages (14th and 15th centuries).
