The lakeside section borders Lazise and Castelnuovo del Garda to the east and Padenghe sul Garda to the north.<br /><br />The historic center is at the northern end of a long, narrow peninsula about four kilometers long that bisects the southern lake shore, and is also configured as an island, since it has been isolated from the peninsula by a navigable moat, which is crossed by a single access route, a bridge.<br /><br />It still retains a medieval urban structure, with narrow, irregular streets.
