Muline has a harbor and a mooring, and boaters are welcome guests on the entire island, which is full of sheltered coves suitable for safe anchoring and various smaller and larger moorings. Ugljan is also called the island of olives because of the extremely large number of olive trees. Namely, in Muline there is the most important archaeological site on the island of Ugljan from the 1st century with the remains of a large ancient oil mill where the famous Liburnian oil was produced. The area of the Adriatic coast was then called Liburnia, and the inhabitants of Liburni, hence the name Liburnian oil, which was so famous that even in the book "On cooking" by the Roman writer Apicius, there is a recipe for how to get that flavor from ordinary Spanish oil by adding oats, oat, laurel and salt. There is an economic complex on that site, which also consists of a mausoleum, a small memorial church and an early Christian basilica dedicated to Saint John. By the way, that oil mill was one of the strongest in the Mediterranean, and it had as many as 5 oil presses, making it the largest oil mill in the Adriatic that has been explored so far. It is interesting that it has been preserved to such a level that even today, with a certain investment, it could be put into operation and produce original Liburnian oil. Directly next to the oil mill and the agricultural holding, of which the oil mill was a part, there was a large port from which the olive oil produced in Mulin was transported to all parts of the Roman Empire.
