Roč is located in the center of northern Istria, at 348 m above sea level. The place is located at the junction of limestone, from which Ćićarija and Učka are built, and marl, which is what the valleys and ridges below these two mountains are. It was first mentioned in 1064. After the fall of Venice, Roč became part of the Illyrian provinces, and then Austria.
