Located in Agios Nikolaos.<br />This is a small but comfortable detached house in the remote area of Vlihadia, Agios Nikolaos, Lasithi, Crete on private land with excellent sea views.<br /><br />The house is just outside the small fishing village of Vlihadia, a pretty coastal village north of the popular tourist resort of Elounda.<br />In front of the property is a covered parking space for one car belonging to the propery.<br />A few steps lead into the main area where the vivid flower and shrub garden with its small paths and detailed corners .<br /><br />A pergola covers a tiled terrace in front of the house entrance where a nice coffee table and chairs offer a nice place to enjoy a drink or meal in the daytime shade. There is a nice built gas cooking space next to the pergola.<br /><br />To the left of the house as we look towards the sea there is an atrium (also with pergola) where one can sit and enjoy the views even on a bad day).<br /><br />The main house comprises a small but very practical kitchen complete with oven, cooker, extractor, fridge/freezer, Inox sink and many cupboards and kitchen drawers, a living room /dining room with a log burner and  nice views from both windows, a nice shower room  and two double bedrooms either side of the bathroom with balcony doors which give access to the gardens and terrace areas.<br />An external staircase leads up to the flat roof where there is a solar panel water heating system and also the small boiler room (oil fuelled) for the houses central heating.<br /><br />At the back of the main house there is a good sized storage /utility room and a couple of sheds (for wood for the log burner and garden tools) as well as a deck which is shaded with a four point sail when needed, this deck is a very nice place to host guests on a nice day or evening.<br /><br />The garden areas of the house include vegetable patches, trees and shrubs, a grape vine and others.<br /><br />There is a nice tavern in the village and a nice small beach on the village edge.<br /><br />Vlihadia is within a 30 minute drive to Elounda and about 45 minutes to the province capital Agios Nikolaos<br /><br />The international airport of Heraklion is about 1 hour and 20 minutes from vlihadia.<br /><br />Agios Nikolaos is the capital of the county Lasithi and is located at the Mirabello Bay, north-east Crete, only 40mins away from the international airport of Heraklion.<br /><br />Geographically the town is well protected from strong winds allowing sea sports and swimming nearly all year round.<br /><br />Although Agios Nikolaos has a population of less than 20,000 it has a several banks, supermarkets, shops of every kind, doctors, a modern hospital of high standard, public swimming pool and tennis courts, yacht marina, harbour, cinema, theatre, gyms, a 9-hole golf course, schools ranging from nurseries to 6-level high school and generally all the amenities you would expect to find in a large modern European town.<br /><br />The microclimate is one of the best in Greece and the moderate temperatures<br /><br />rarely exceed 30c in summer or fall below 15c in wintertime. This wonderful dry climate together with the natural beauty of the area has attracted most of the high class hotels of Greece to operate here.
