Tonneins, Aquitaine 47400

The oldest part of the castle, rectangular in plan flanked by four towers, was probably built in the fourteenth century. Besieged after 1655 during the Wars of Religion, the towers were destroyed. The castle was rebuilt in the seventeenth century. It is built according to a regular rectangular plan flanked by towers at the corners.The towers are truncated at the level of the roof. Inside, there is a large entrance hall leading to a large room on each side. Beautiful wooden staircase leading to 4 bedrooms upstairs. Beautiful old features. Two houses from the 60s were built and adjoined to the castle, as well as a stable/barn. Rural environment.
