Having retained the look of the existing faade, the current owner has transformed the interior into a modern, bright space without losing the charm and character of the original farm building. The views are simply wonderful, giving huge panoramas over the valley to the peaks near and far. All within an easy walk of the village centre, albeit uphill on the way back.LocationChalet Criou just under a 10-minute walk (750 metres) to the south-east of the village centre of Samons, in an elevated position on the lower slopes of the infamous Col de Joux Plane, a climb often featured in the Tour de France. The nearest boulangeries and supermarket are in the village centre, along with a number of bars and restaurants. The main ski lift, the Grand Massif Express, is on the south side of the centre, 1.8km from the property, as well as the summer lakes, sports centre and ice-rink. The nearest bus-stop, serving them all, is just 50 metres away.
