Saint-Antonin-sur-Bayon, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur 13100

An 18th century country house with orchards and a swimming pool, surrounded by 17 hectares of fields and woods, overlooking Mont Sainte-Victoire and 20 minutes from Aix-en-Provence. The estate is accessed via a small private path that leads to the few discreet properties in the neighbourhood. A long driveway, framed by two cypress hedges, leads to the inhabited part of the estate, where the house and its landscaped garden are located. Built in 1760, the farmhouse has undergone successive extensions over the centuries. Its limestone rubble faades, topped with a canal tile roof and double rows of genoise tiles, rest on solid timber frames. The large-paned windows have retained their original proportions and materials. A number of carefully landscaped, gravelled outdoor areas extend the house, including a 10 x 5 m swimming pool and a boules area, all surrounded by lush vegetation that lends the property an intimate atmosphere. Further on, orchards and vegetable gardens precede two vast fields, themselves bordered by woodland. Everywhere, inside and out, the mountain is omnipresent.
