	Entrenched on the heights, embraced in the heart of the historic city, this adjoining building has been constantly remodeled over time.
	The street façade partially sums up this long history: an elevation with wide windows topped with oval-shaped windows (late eighteenth century), an Empire stone and wrought iron balcony (early nineteenth century), a modern storefront with brass rods and a panelled lintel (50s and 60s).
	The visitor will not linger long in the deep room on the ground floor where the grocery store once stood. He will be attracted by the door that reveals the backstage of the building and gives access to the living areas.
	A high and spacious stairwell forms an unexpected skylight that invites you to contemplate the floors. Here, the delicate glass wooden partitions that separate the kitchen from the reception areas exude the Belle Époque. From there are salons and bedrooms. Note the imposing English-style fireplace which enhances the brilliance of the dining room paved with polychrome cement tiles with its neo-Louis XVI mantel.
	The eye will then be drawn to the outside by an exceptional panorama that can be enjoyed from a high-perched balcony. The rear façade of the building is suspended on the hillside. 	A closer examination of the exterior stones reveals a much older foundation than the interior joinery, which is evidently the work of honest eighteenth-century craftsmen.
	The upper floors distinctly form two spacious apartments. The elongated shape of the building induces a long circulation which is punctuated, in the centre, by the landing. This constraint forced the builders to open windows overlooking the cage to ventilate the many bedrooms (5 in all), corridors, dressing room, and living room.
	The amateur will appreciate the quality and age of the large-plank floors in some rooms, as well as the plasterwork trumeaux that top the marble fireplaces.
