In the Orne, in the north of the Domfrontais, with its 4200 m garden with trees, a renovated and reinvented 19th century farmhouse. Along an old lane, barely a small country lane, the property appears at the bend in the road. In the centre of a hamlet, it consists of an old farm from the 1830s, leaning against the hillside and surrounded by its agricultural buildings, scattered throughout the enclosure. Gently sloping to the south, the whole extends on either side of the road. Access to the main plot is from the west, in a courtyard where the faade of the old farm overlooks. The small authentic farmhouse of the Orne bocage has become an original ensemble over the course of the transformations. Several extensions have been added according to the desires of its successive occupants, without ever breaking with the proportions and aesthetics of the pre-existing construction. Topped with a gabled slate roof, the faade has three bays of windows on the south side. The west gable is crowned with a chimney stack and pierced with small windows. To the east, the original building is flanked by a tower and several volumes with single-gated roofs. The first is a garage set at right angles to the east of the farmhouse and in front of the tower. The second, adjoining the first, is a small lean-to. The third, with a slate roof, is attached to the east of the farmhouse. The front door is preceded by a glazed porch. A wooden terrace extends the bay window. Lined with black shutters, the windows are fitted with rounded red joinery.To the south, the garden includes a vegetable garden and extensive lawns planted with trees. A storeroom and a shed, a barn, a courtyard, a woodshed and a workshop dot the property, according to the local tradition of building a building for each defined use.
