Luxurious elegance in a charming settingOverviewSituated in the heart of one of the most sought-after villages in the northern Gers, this substantial manor house has been entirely renovated to the highest standard. It offers luxury accommodation over three floors and seven bedrooms, each with a private bath or shower room.The houseThis is a property that is both beautiful and functional. No expense has been spared in the renovation and the result is simply stunning. There is a level of luxury here that is not often seen in properties in the area, and this, combined with the quality of the work that has been done, makes this house remarkable.Ground floorThe house hides its beauty behind an elegantly renovated stone faade, in the best tradition of the region. Large double wooden doors open to reveal a spacious entrance hall with an open curved staircase in stone and wrought iron, flagstone floors and exposed beams.The rooms on the ground floor wrap around the central staircase so we will start counterclockwise and walk around. Each room opens into the next, and there is a logical progression.On one side, a huge living room stretches from the front to the back of the house, with large windows at both ends. This is the ideal room for receiving friends and has an air of quiet contemplation that is pleasing and relaxing at the same time. The warm sienna tiles and exposed beams add a traditional touch, which perfectly complements the eclectic modern dcor.Past the living room, a wide door framed in classic Gascon stone opens onto the dining room. This is a room that is used for big family celebrations, when the owners grill on a specially designed range installed within the medieval stone fireplace.Next door we find a large and highly functional kitchen where the owners have installed special no-stick flooring. This is a spacious room that has clearly been designed by someone who cooks to a very high standard, and incudes a large island with an incorporated wine fridge, a bar sink, lots of storage space and big gas range.A beautiful half-moon shaped window adds a traditional touch to this attractive room.On the other side of the kitchen, we find a room that is sure to be a favourite. Currently in use as a bar the owners love to host parties the room runs the width of the house and has a wall of glass doors opening onto the pool deck. The floors are exquisite Venetian tiles and there is a built-in bookcase running the length of the room opposite the pool.Beyond this room, we are once again approaching the front of the house and come to a spacious foyer where we find the elevator that goes to the first floor, a Wc with wheelchair access, and the boiler room.First floorOnce we climb the gorgeous original staircase that winds around and opens onto an open plan landing, we are faced with a choice. On the right-hand side is the first of 8 luxuriously appointed en suite bedrooms and on the left side we find a dtente room where the elevator from the ground floor opens, as well as access to a large terrace overlooking the pool with a jacuzzi. This is an attractive space to have a drink or just relax in the jacuzzi and watch the sunset over the rooftops and fields.Behind the main hall, with its flagstone floors and tall exposed stone walls, we find a second corridor that leads to two further bedrooms, both large and luxurious.All the bedrooms in the house measure between 20 m and 31 m, and each one has a soundproof door, excellent insulation, and a large private bath or shower room.Second floorOn the second floor, we find the same luxury as on the ground floor, although the layout is a little different. Here there are five bedrooms, and while each one has its own bathroom, one of them has a magnificent 18 m bathroom to include a beautiful freestanding bathtub, a shower, a sink and a separate WC.Several of the rooms have connecting doors, although all of them can be completely independent, and this is quite practical for families with children who require more supervision or just want to be close to their parents.It is very rare to find a property that has the same high-quality amenities in every single room there are almost always bedrooms that have a shared bathroom, and there are usually one or two that are smaller or less attractive. Here, however, the owners have made sure that everyone who lives in or visits the property can enjoy it equally.Pool & outside spaceThe sense of living in a luxurious dream house extends not only to the interior but is both present and magnified once we go through the glass doors to the outside space. It feels like we are in an exclusive boutique hotel, with the perfectly aligned sun loungers set around a large pool. Huge potted palm trees provide shade and a hand-painted frieze along one wall adds an original touch.The pool is gorgeous, with shimmering peacock-tinted tiles and a wide staircase. It is surrounded by travertine tiling with plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy the sunshine.The outside space is completely walled and includes, at the far end, a small outbuilding with a covered Bbq area, a storage room and a wine cellar. There is even an upstairs room that could be used as a private gym.Here at BlissWe were stunned by the quality of the renovation done by the owners of this house. Absolutely everything has been carefully thought out and provided for there is even provision for handicapped visitors or family members. And it is not just the amount of money spent on the property the owners have put their heart into the work and the dcor, and they have succeeded in creating something both wonderful and entirely original.
