Located in a private mansion in a protected neighbourhood in downtown Dijon, a sunny 202-m² duplex flat renovated in 2014. The apartment is located in the heart of downtown Dijon, but its setback position on a small street and its high surrounding stone walls shelter it from prying eyes and the hubbub of the historic centre. A large carriage door, built in 1843 according to the plans of the architect-surveyor François Papinot, providing access to both pedestrians and vehicles, gives onto a paved courtyard.
The main building presents a plaster-coated ashlar stone façade, which displays the symmetry and simplicity of a refined architectural style, cadenced by five vertical rows of rectilinear windows with moulded surrounds, as well as quoins, stringcourses and a cornice. It is composed of a ground floor, a first floor and a basement level.
Its central body and wings placed at right angles are crowned with a flat tile roof.
From the courtyard, a staircase with three rectangular steps leads to a wooden door that marks the entrance to the private mansion. From the entrance hall, a large stone staircase with a wooden handrail and wrought-iron guardrails leads to a landing on the upper floor, which is divided into two flats. Four large small-pane, stained glass-style casement windows bathe the stairwell in light.
