This house of character, built in stages between the Xiv-Xvi centuries, was once the home of the illustrious Rouergat poet Emile Roudié, a descendant of the saviour of the treasure of Sainte Foy de Conques during the French Revolution. It is still owned by a poet and art historian, who is the author of the poem "Conques la quête" which adorns the entrance and exit doors of the Route de Compostelle. Conques is a major stop on this journey.

As Conques is built on a steep slope, the house becomes larger as you go up to the upper floors. it has one of the few shops in the village, a large cellar with a well and an access to the street where the medieval craftsman displayed and sold his products.
