The train station (Feve) is still operational and is located in the same urban area of the town, next to a passage over a street that connects the two halves of the town and along the local road Le-4606.

The station is one of the original stations of the line, being opened to traffic on 20 July 1893 with the commissioning of the Boñar-Cistierna section of the line that aimed to link La Robla with Bilbao. However, the line was not officially inaugurated until 11 August 1894 and La Robla and Bilbao were not definitively linked without a change in Valmaseda until 1902.

Among the possible hiking routes that can be done, it is worth mentioning the Condianos path that goes from La Ercina to Casetas, where the old mining sites in the area were located.

La Ercina is very close to Cistierna and Boñar. 

The village of Boñar, surrounded by mountains, is located in the north of the province of León, 45 km from the capital.
An important part of the municipality is integrated into the Picos de Europa Regional Park, where you can find various unique plant and animal species.
Boñar has a Feve station and several stops located in the villages of the municipality that are next to the route of the La Robla - Bilbao line.
