Pájara is the most southerly of Fuerteventura's six municipalities and is largely located on the Jandía peninsula, bordering Betancuria to the north and Tuineje to the north-east. It is made up of the following localities: Morro Jable, Costa Calma, Solana Matorral, La Lajita, Pájara, Ezquinzo, La Pared, Piedras Caidas, Toto, Ajuy, Cardon, Mal Nombre, Punta Jandía and Chilegua. The administrative centre of the municipality in Pájara is quite wealthy due to the income from the tourist centres from Costa Calma to Morro Jable.
In addition to the well-known white beaches for long walks, the municipality has much more to offer, such as a zoo in La Lajita, great conditions for surfing in La Pared and the small village of Cofete with the legendary Villa Winter.
