Its history dates back to prehistoric times, evidenced by its famous cave paintings and tombs found within the hills overlooking the reservoirs of Celemín and Barbate - a perfect location for birdwatching - griffon vultures, storks, cranes, herons, etc. And occasionally imperial eagles - on their migration route to Africa.
