Among the standout beneficiaries of this area is the Redbank Plains Recreation Reserve, which is set to receive over $8.9 million in joint funding.

This initiative is part of the SEQ Liveability Fund, a commitment under the $1.8 billion SEQ City Deal, designed to deliver long-lasting benefits to one of Queensland’s fastest-growing regions. 

The SEQ City Deal is a collaborative effort between the Australian and Queensland governments and the Council of Mayors (SEQ) to address the infrastructure needs of South East Queensland.

The Redbank Plains Recreation Reserve will see substantial improvements, including the development of two full-size rectangular playing fields equipped with lighting and irrigation. 

Additional upgrades will include back netting, expanded parking facilities, new footpaths connecting amenities and fields, and provisions for future developments, such as an inclusive clubhouse and change room facilities. 

These enhancements are designed to meet the needs of the growing community and provide a high-quality recreational space for residents.

In addition to the funding for Redbank Plains, the Tivoli Sports Complex will receive more than $5.5 million for its expansion. 

This includes the addition of a new full-size rectangular field and training field, as well as essential amenities like toilets, an internal road, car park, and footpath connections.
